What is Dhira?
Dhira is a minimal Android launcher and screen-time app in one. It replaces your home screen with a calm, plain one: a clock, your real apps, and Pebble, a small companion that mirrors your attention, green when you are on track and red when you fall into a doomscroll. Underneath, it detects short-form scrolling (Reels, Shorts, TikTok) and helps you step out of it.
Is Dhira free? Is Pro a subscription?
The core of Dhira is free forever: the launcher, Pebble, short-form detection, a daily reel budget, a breathing pause on one app, three app timers, and the stats dashboard. Pro is optional and unlocked inside the app through Google Play, as a monthly or yearly subscription or a one-time lifetime purchase. Prices are shown localized in the Google Play purchase sheet in the app.
What does Dhira Pro add?
Pro unlocks the breathing pause on unlimited apps, launch prompts before habit apps, focus schedules, strict sessions with an uninstall lock, app groups and site blocking, and custom pause media and wallpaper. Everything in the free tier stays free.
Will Dhira block YouTube and Instagram entirely?
No. Dhira watches for the rapid-scroll pattern and the Reels/Shorts surface specifically, so you keep the apps for normal videos and messages and only get stepped in on the short-form feed.
What is the daily reel budget?
Dhira counts the reels and shorts you actually watch, as one budget shared across apps: Instagram Reels, YouTube Shorts, TikTok and other short-form feeds. You choose the number (20, 50, whatever fits) and can change it anytime in the app. Once the budget is spent, every feed is closed for the day; switching from Reels to Shorts will not reset it. Normal YouTube videos, the Instagram feed, and messages keep working as usual.
Does my data leave my phone?
No. Dhira has no account, no sign-in, no analytics, and makes no network calls. It works fully offline, even in airplane mode. All detection, stats, and settings stay on your device. The only network activity is the Google Play purchase flow if you buy Pro, which is handled by Google Play.
How do strict sessions work?
A strict session locks your rules for a period you choose so you cannot turn them off in a weak moment. The uninstall lock (optional, via Android Device Admin) also prevents removing Dhira while a session is active. You set the level; nothing is forced on you.
How do refunds and cancellation work?
Pro is purchased through Google Play, so refunds follow the standard Google Play refund policy, and subscriptions are cancelled anytime from the Play Store subscriptions page. Reinstalling or switching phones? "Restore purchase" in the app brings Pro back on the same Google account.
